Bluetooth controlled power outlet with Arduino

This is an example of controlling an AC power socket over Bluetooth from your iPhone.

The iPhone sends serial commands over Bluetooth to the Arduino in response to touching buttons on the screen. The Arduino receives the serial data with a BlueSMiRF Bluetooth modem and responds by opening and closing a relay I spliced into an extension cord. This way the iPhone(or any other mobile device or computer with Bluetooth) can remotely turn on or off anything plugged into the extension cord.
